Freedom Mobile Automatic APN Configuration

Try the easiest option first. In most cases when you insert SIM card to a new device, Freedom Mobile detects your phone modal and sends the correct APN configuration settings. But if this did not work, you can still request APN settings via SMS to be installed automatically to device.

Type setup and send the SMS to 41111 and you will receive the correct Freedom Mobile APN settings via SMS. Once you approve the settings they will be automatically applied to your device.

If this did not work, you will need to manually configure your device. Please select your device modal or OS to get the instructions to setup correct APN settings to configure your device.

In order Freedom to work correctly, it must always be on in the background. We encourage you to leave the app open and running in the background at all times.

It's possible to 'force quit' an app on iOS. There'a misconception that quitting apps will result in improved battery life or improved use of CPU. This is not true! Here's an article which explains the situation: https://daringfireball.net/2017/07/you_should_not_force_quit_apps

This is why we encourage you to never quit Freedom. For Freedom to work correctly, it must always be on in the background!

Because of limitations imposed on all apps by Apple, the Freedom iOS app is sometimes unable to synchronize with our server when it's running in the background. This happens after going long periods without opening the app (a day or more), or sometimes shorter periods (a few hours) if many other apps have been opened in the meantime.

The solution is to simply open the Freedom app now and again and let it sync. Opening the app will automatically sync all of your blocklists and sessions!
